Perfect Eyebrows

Eyebrows, though sometimes taken for granted, makes a big impact on someone's face... It adds strength and definition to our face, hence, badly shaped eyebrows can make a person look either 5 years older, or undergoing menopausal stage, or just having a bad hair day every day... wheeeow... that bad eh??? So let's be friendly with them... Don't pull them all off!!! Stop going to the threading/waxing section of the salon every week... Remember, it takes 3 weeks to 1 month to have those eyebrows back again so you can have them reshaped... For some of us who can't take the agony of threading, this one from Sephora is worth trying... For US $65.00, you already have an Anastasia 5-piece eyebrow kit which will surely solve your eyebrow dilemmas... Providing you with just the basics, the Five Item Brow Kit provides you with these indispensable brow-shaping tools; Tweezers, Brow Powder, four Brow Stencils, one Duo Brush (Angled Cut / Spooley), and Brow Gel.

And since it is from Anastasia, I think it is worth believing... Here are some tips in having perfectly shaped eyebrows...

BEFORE ANASTASIA

First, apply the Stencil. Choose the stencil that aligns with both the front and the tail of the brow, (points A and B) and has as much of your natural brow hair inside the brow cutout as possible.

A is the point through the center of the nostril directly up to where it intersects the end point of the stencil cutout.

B is the point through the edge of the nose diagonally to the opposite end of the stencil cutout.

Fill in the arch with the Angled Brush. Arch and fill in the stencil shape with Brow Powder using an Angled Brush.

Tweeze hair.
-Using the Tweezers, remove hair outside the stenciled area

-Apply After Tweeze Cream onto the skin that has experienced hair removal to calm and soothe the pores as well as eliminate redness.

-Apply the Brow Gel.
Using the brush on the applicator, brush upward to condition and hold the shape of the brow all day.

-The Highlighter is applied underneath the eyebrow, along the brow bone and blended in to lighten the skin.

After ANASTASIA Perfect Brow Kit

See??? That's what I call perfectly shaped eyebrows... By the way, the brow powder comes in different shades also, how convenient, eh??? You can choose from:

Ash Blonde

Medium Ash

Strawburn

Brunette

And lastly, here are some more useful information in attaining perfectly shaped eyebrows....

Well groomed eyebrows enhance your beauty.

You should pluck eyebrows before bedtime so any redness will disappear overnight. In shaping your eyebrows use your facial features.

Use a pair of slant edge tweezers which grip hairs easily. Comb hairs one way and then the other to remove loose hairs.

You should pluck hairs between the brows and any stragglers. Never remove the hairs from above your eyebrows.

Pluck each hair individually close to the root. Work in the direction of the growth.

Always avoid over plucking. In defining your eyebrows choose a shade similar to your natural hair colour.

When using a pencil you should apply in small, feathered strokes. Starting at the inner corner work outwards.

Blend the colour with a brush. To tame stray hairs just use hair gel and comb through to neaten.

There you have it... I think we should just always keep in mind that eyebrows define the face of a person - they can either soften or strengthen the look... And I think I'd go for the softened look...

The 5 Essentials - Timeless Make Up For Classy Women

Laura Mercier bears the 5 most essential make up for 2006-2007:

1. Gray Eye Color

"Gray eye shadow is very trendy right now, but I say it's always the color," says Laura. "It's timeless. It's neither warm nor cool, but neutral. It's very easy to apply. And it matches every skin tone and every possible outfit. Women, think gray these days".

2. Lip Liner
Laura says matching lip liner to lip color is popular now, but smart always. "I’ve noticed in the French magazines lately that lip pencil colors are no longer darker than one’s lipstick," says Laura. "So I recommend matching your lip liner as close as possible to your lipstick." To apply, Laura suggests outlining your lips just over your lip’s natural border, so they’ll look slightly fuller and younger. Then, blend the lip liner all over the lips so your lipstick will hold longer

3. Lip Gloss

"Lip gloss is always great for summer," says Laura, who suggests women consider a nice, sheer lip gloss for the sunny season. Begin applying gloss at the center of your lips to distribute it evenly.

4. Orange Blush

"Orange blush colors are popular right now," says Laura. But she cautions against some women following this trend. "Blush colors on mature women should be more natural," she advises. "Natural blush is more plummy or pinkish."

If you’re still looking for an orange-ish hue, however, investigate alternatives like a brownish-pink, peachy pink, apricot or slightly golden or hazelnut hues.

5. Precise Application

It's all in the details these days. It's not just about color and texture anymore, but technique. Laura says a big trend in makeup is precise application. "Women are using more brushes, more tools. That way you can target what you need more precisely," she says. "So I recommend asking a makeup professional for help. Women who get more educated [in makeup] are always surprised at how easy professional makeup techniques are, and they'll make a tremendous difference in your appearance."

French Women

I've been hearing a lot of reviews on this...

Never read the book, "Why French Women Don't Get Fat", (don't even know if I got the title correctly) anyways, this book, French Women For All Seasons really caught my eye... Maybe because, I find French women mysterious... a little bitchy, but actually, I envy them... So in a few days, I'll be starting reading this one and will update you guys as soon as I'm done....

Last Monday, one of our cousins celebrated her birthday... This is one of those nice occasions that I usually look forward to because I get to see my cousins... These are the people who I consider to be "true" people... Where no holds barred, and transparency is all you get from everyone... It really feels good to be all out and true to one another... And mind you, these people are not just ordinary people... They are humble tycoons - international manufacturers, CEO's, Entrepreneurs... That is why I admire their humility... Here's one of our pics that night...

I Want One Of Those!

As i was browsing the net this morning, I ran across popgadget. I love gadgets, toys, techy and unique stuff, so I clicked on one of its referring sites, iwantoneofthose.com

These are the things that caught my eye... And I really want one of those!!!

There is little doubt in our minds that the 'Foot In The Door' is the quirkiest and most stylish door wedge in the known (and were it possible, the unknown) universe. In a fight against the ghastly Health & Safety nutters who are vainly trying to make our lives safer with sprung doors, this sexy stiletto will neatly jam your door open in an achingly cool way, letting in light, air and life. Trying to make life safe is rather defeating the point isn't it? Life's inherently dangerous, that's what makes it so special. We're in danger of drifting from the point here. Designed by those unhinged gurus at 'Fred' in the U.S., this elegantly streamlined soft rubber stiletto is undeniably saucy, comes in either Sexy Black or Hot Red, and adds a touch of couture to your door.

This neat little IQ Test is a quick instant gratification (or disappointment!) IQ Challenge that's surprisingly accurate. We tested the results against a full-on 'official' IQ test that you send off to experts, and were pleased to see that the results differed by only a couple of points. Considering that IQ tests typically vary by anything up to 6 points either way, we were truly impressed.

Coming in a compact little box, it takes just 45 minutes to complete, and comes with full instructions, and an answer and score card, so you don't have to wait long to find out how bright you really are. A score of 130+ will put you in the top 2% of the country's population - so that's something to aim for!

Here's a way to pace the eating of your Halloween candy (because we all have it whether we admit it or not). The mini-Candy Grabber is a home version of the arcade game found in amusement parks and supermarkets. However, instead of toys, this version is filled with candy. Place a fake coin into the machine, and you have 75 seconds to pick up a piece of candy and drop it into the shoot. The controls are, in fact, fairly complex, as it comes with three joysticks to maneuver the claw. Your edible prize will certainly taste better after working for it. The mini-Candy Grabber is one of those rare toys that has both kid and adult appeal.

All items above are available at I Want One Of Those website.

Some News... And Some Shopping Too!

Hey peeps.... Got awesome news for all... I am 5 weeks pregnant!!! Yeah, yeah, 'been waiting for this to happen... I already have a 4 year old girl and want to have a boy this time... But, of course, we know that all we can do is just wish and hope...

The funny thing is, I've been on a diet for a month already, and just started enjoying the treadmill... For weeks, I noticed that I'm physically healthy and that I am not as sedentary as before... But now, as I don't want to be a hypocrite or anything, I feel a little disappointed because I failed myself again on this diet and the exercise thing...

Though one thing is confirmed, Exercise is really good... And for couples who are trying to conceive, I must say, it made my reproductive organs really active!!! So, c'mon, get physical!!! Muwahahaha...

So, what else is new?!? Oh yeah, I recently got myself an 8GB Ipod Nano... Then I found this on asos.com... They're soooo cute.... So I bought one...
What makes it fun is that, I get to design it and make use of those swarovski crystals... Love it!!!

And this one, from Old Navy... You know I am a big fan of Chanel... And you may also know that I can barely afford one... So here's what I got for myself...

I can't say that this is an imitation coz' it doesn't have the chanel logo anywhere... What I like in this bag is that I can wear it during night outs, when I don't have to bring a lot of stuff... And it could be worn 2 ways, on your shoulders, or, you can adjust the locks so it will turn to a wristlet... For US$12.00... Ain't it a cutie???
