Me And My Make Up

I love, love Make Up!!! And I don't believe that putting on make up can make a person ugly... Some men do really think that putting on make up could make a woman look messy, clowny, comicky, funny, and even lousy... Actually, it's not the Make Up, it's how we put on the make up, what color palette we use, and when (on what occassion) do we use them... Remember, if a person puts on her make up in a right way, her natural beauty is enhanced. It shouldn't make a person look different, but rather make the person look cleaner, fresher, and younger, which inevitably gives her the confidence to face anyone, anything.

So as a make up lover, I want to share my secrets on putting on make up. (If you don't agree with me, please feel free to state your comment/s on the "comments" section below)

On a daily basis, I use natural beige or pinkish tones. I always put on light cake foundation to: (1) make my skintone look fairly even; (2) close my pores to prevent dusts from penetrating (3) serve as the base for my eyeshadow and blusher so they don't adhere directly on my face.

Kanebo Stage Color Cake Foundation is very light, it has this Aromatic Green Tea Scent that is uniquely different from other "cakey foundations" in the market. I don't know if this is sold in other countries because I can't seem to find it in the website of Kanebo. But since I've been using this for more than 10 years already, I believe this is genuine and I never had any skin problems with it.

Since the cake foundation can look stiff on my face, I top it off with my Shu Uemura Loose Powder. It makes my skin look more relaxed and flawless.

Now, let the playing begin:

1. I first do my eyebrows, using the ever convenient double ended Chanel Sculpting Brow Pencil in Brun. After tracing my eyebrows, I brush it off to make it look more natural. For heavier coverage, I dip the brush to Rubbing Alcohol, and carefully trace my eyebrows (it produces dark, clean brow line). Then, I generously put on white powder under my eyes to hide undereye dark circles (I take them off when I'm done).

2. I use my damp #12 Synthetic Eyeshadow Brush, put on beige base eyeshadow on the entire lid up to the crease. This serves as my eyeshadow base. I use Illuminance Creme Shadow by Revlon in "Not Just Nudes" color palette.3. I put on a darker shade of brown (also from the same palette) on the outer corner of my eyes, using a #252 large shader brush, blending it inward. I also call this my magic brush because it contours the eyeshadow, giving me a "deepset eye" effect.

4. Using a black cake liner, I line my upper eyelid thinly using my #269 Medium Angle Lining Brush. It enhances the contour on my eye crease and makes my eye look dramatic. I let it dry before going to my next step.

5. Shu Uemura Curl Lash for me is the best. I start from the base (roots) of my lashes, press, release, then move outwards, press, release, then move outward again, until i reach the tips of the lashes. This way, my lashes won't look like and inverted letter L. It will look naturally curvy and curly.6. Then, I use my Max Factor Stretch and Separate Waterproof Black Mascara to make my lashes look darker. Using the tip of the wand, I stroke the lashes from the roots to the tips ever so lightly, so it won't clump. Most of the time, I do it in single coating only.

7. Using my middle finger, I put on a little amount of RMK Ingenious Creamy Cheek Blush to the apples of my cheeks. I always smile when I put on blusher to exude a natural "blushing" look.

8. For finishing touches, I use my # 207 Duster Brush dipped in my Shu Uemura Loose Powder, slightly shake it to remove excess, and brush lightly on my entire face, brushing under my eyes to remove the white powder I applied earlier, cleaning all small residues of eyeshadow on my face.

9. Almost done, I use clean "Q-tips" or cotton buds to get a small amount of my Rosebud Salve to prep my lips before putting on my lipstick. I don't put on lipstick immediately after, I give my Rosebud Salve enough time to be absorbed by my dry lips. Lipstick alone (all kinds) could make my lips crack.

10. Now, I can put on whatever shade of lipstick or lipgloss I want, but lately, I am addicted to "Pout Plump" lip gloss in Plum.
Do you guys think that I take too much time getting my make up done? Well, actually, you can do all these easy steps in less than 10 minutes... Give it a try! Make your day a little more brighter!!!

Some people use more make-up than others. Depends if you have time for it really, this coming from someone who gets up at the latest possible time leaving her with not much time to do her make-up. But it always gets done. I love Shu Uemura eyelash curlers, their the best ones I've ever used and I wouldn't think of using anything else!
