Craved for Peking Duck

Since it is very impossible for us to dine in a Chinese restaurant next week - for Chinese New Year's celebration, we decided to have it today... My dad's craving for Peking Duck, so we all headed to Choi Garden. It's the newly opened restaurant in Annapolis St., Greenhills, which replaced the defunct
and controversial "Country Waffles"...

From the outside, you'll notice that the interiors are red.. All you see is Red...
A very strong, yet festive color...

Amazed as I was entering the dining area, it looked a lot different from all the other Chinese restaurants I've seen...

There's somewhat a tunnel - that led me to the main dining area...

The interior's magnificent... Even their chopsticks look modern...

I was led upstairs where our reserved table was patiently waiting, and as I was going up the spiral staircase, I noticed that the handrail was made of glass...
From top to bottom - almost invisible...

Above me, is this huge beautiful chandelier...

The chandelier was enormous and can't help but stare at those clear crystals...

From where I was sitting, I can clearly appreciate the artist's work on the huge center chandelier that illuminates in the dining area...

Those are gazillion Swarovski crystals all put together to make a huge lighting... It looks like the place where Superman found
his parents somewhere in the North...

I didn't take the pictures of what we had this evening... Except for the one that we've all been craving for...

It is sooooooooo good... sinful, but really good.... sighhhh... hello, Trans fat!!!

Of course I had to check out their restrooms... I asked my BIL to take pictures because I was curious on how they designed the Men's washrooms...

And, below is the Women's washrooms

and my photographer, my DS Marnie...

And I ain't disappointed... Loved the Black and Gold theme...

We had a sumptuous Pre-Chinese New Year Dinner (again) and I had the pleasure to meet the restaurant's owner - Mr. Choi... Such a sweet, nice person, look, his holding Cassie's hands...

Guys if you plan on dining one of these days, I think you better make your reservations now... I rate this restaurant, a whopping 5 stars!!!

P.S.
I'd like to thank my BIL, Peegee for taking pictures
for this blog... 'til next time Peej...

Where's The Gigolo???

You may find me pervert, but I really can't help but notice the funny "themes" they use in putting up their banners to welcome guests...

I'm talking about the "gay bar", I guess you (Filipinos) are all familiar with Gigolo...

Yes, I did see the place already and watched 2 sets of their performance... ehemmm, it was a fun experience though... At first we thought it would be an awkward situation because, we thought it would be loaded with gay peeps... But we were shocked finding out that almost all tables were filled with women... Oh yes, straight girls go there... It was just my first and last experience guys... But I went to Adonis also.... That same night....

I seldom pass by Timog area, so I didn't know that the place has closed down already... I even took pictures of their banners when passing by that street...

Would You Wear Colored Mascara?

I would.

I used to wear dark green and dark red ones from, if I'm not mistaken, Shu Uemura. I remember I bought them when I was in HK...

Sadly they last up to only 6 months, and I can no longer re-use them... It gets stinky and all dried up... Makes my lashes look like spider legs when applied.

Colored mascara's been popping up on the runway for a few years now, starting with blue at Dior, gold at Gucci and this season's white lashes at Erin Fetherston. White?!? Oh yes, white... Just like this...

But nada... I don't think it would look good on me... I used to have a Chanel Black and White Mascara, (double) wherein one should apply the white liquid first to coat the lashes, and then, followed by the black one. It really worked... My lashes looked longer and fuller...

But Max Factor’s Vivid Impact Highlighting Mascara has come...

It’s a new double-ended mascara that first defines with a base coat, and then highlights lashes and draws closer attention to the eyes. Invented by Pat McGrath, who revealed this mascara at the Fall/Winter 2007 at the Dolce & Gabbana show.

I'm so liking it... Highlights for lashes... Wow!!!

How about you guys? Would you wear colored mascara?

Headbands

Since I was in Grade School, I reallly wanted to use a headband, even now, I want one... But the thing is, I can't find which one that would make me look like this girl , dang! She is soooo beautiful...

I guess I could fly all around the world and wouldn't find that headband!

Also, wearing one could be as painful... It's hard to find one that is nice and comfortable to wear.

Here are some usual problems I encounter when wearing one:

1. Terrible headache due to tight plastics attached behind my ears.

2. Since I have not so long hair, I can't wear headbands that go "around the head" for it causes the hair at the back to lift and make me look awful.

3. Sometimes I get so carried away that I hardly notice that the headbands are already falling on my forehead making it look more of a turban than a headband...

4. I want my headband to serve as a hair fixer, like when I don't want my bangs hanging on my forehead, and not an accessory - which i think is impossible... I think if you want it to look good, you have to style your hair first, the way you want it to, and then just place the headband on top, just above the hairline...

She's wearing something like this...

But I ain't gonna buy now... I got tons of headbands here in my closet, and I swear, I never wore them!!!

Posh Nails

Black was a real hit last 2006 to 2007. At first, I thought it would be very hard to pull off, but this one's from Chanel looked really posh and classy...

This Go On Green by OPI looks good on fair skintones... It looks a little light on a bottle but is darker and shinier when applied...

Now this one I ought to have...
That shade of blue looks so fab... Wish it would look fab on my nails too...

The Fuze

I love Coke Light (Diet Coke)... I used to drink 1 can a day until I realized that my tummy's all bloated and I gained so much weight (and inches)... So now, I am psyching myself to stop... It's been months that I've stopped this 1 can a day addiction, but there were times that I really can't help it... Especially in the restaurants, where the serve only fresh fruit juices or shakes, iced tea, bottled water (c'mon) and soda... Since I want to cut down calories and sugar intake, I'd better choose the lesser evil!!! Coke Light it is!!!

Then I discovered "The Fuze"... I haven't tasted it yet, but according to reviews, it is really good, and, for the first time, I've seen a drink that claims to be "slenderizing", woohoo!!!

Since I just made a deal with a friend (click on it to see who that is) in our "Amazing Race" to lose 30 lbs in 6 months, I think I might have to try this one...

But this really surprised me! Sephora introduced their new Too Faced FUZE Slenderize Guilt Free Lip Gloss, infused with healthy, delicious fruit flavors and "appetite curbing, energy boasting" ingredients found in FUZE Slenderize beverages.

As what the product claims, "Always on the lips, never on the hips!"

It comes in three shades: Blueberry Raspberry, Strawberry Melon, and Dragon Fruit Lime. One squeeze produces a dab of long lasting , high gloss, silky formula, that creates juicy, sexy lips that smell as good as they taste.

Hmmmm... I think I need to get me some Fuze!!!

Happy New Year!!!

Goodbye 2007, Hello, 2008!!!

I've learned a lot in 2007... I've gained so many friends and I am very thankful for that... Of course there had been bad moments, but as I've told my Saviour last night, "I have experienced deep trials and challenges the past year, so now, my Lord, please make this new year a better one, no more hard obstacles, just shallow and easy ones...

I also stopped making New Year's Resolutions because I never took them seriously... I don't know if I shall call these my goals, or objectives, or resolutions, but these are the things I plan to do in 2008...

1. Be positive
2. Be patient
3. Be good
4. Be kind
5. Be generous
6. Strive hard
7. Spend less
8. Eat less
9. Smoke less
10. Blog More

On January 1, 2009, I'm checking on this post again...
